ORGANIZER: Yachay Wasi, Non-Governmental Organization in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, associated with the UN Department of Public Information and in Operational Relations with UNESCO.

Yachay Wasi (Quechua: House of Learning) is based in New York, NY, USA and in Cuzco, Peru.

Some background: Contrary to the successful Acopia 2009 which was partially funded by the Ford Foundation Office in Chile, the Raqchi Conference did not receive external funding due to a 4 months preparation window.

Raqchi is located in the province of Canchis at the altitude of 3,450 meters (11,319 feet).
